Engineering PD: Practical activities associated with the new engineering syllabus
This teacher professional development session would suit current Engineering Technology teachers and school leaders or teachers involved in introducing QCAA Engineering in 2019. This event will demonstrate a range of practical activities, including testing equipment for the purpose of data collection and analysis, covering syllabus areas of Materials Science, Engineering Mechanics and curriculum Projects.
At the session, teachers will have the opportunity to:
- Observe demonstrations of and/or use all of the equipment on display including the imported, German designed, GUNT WP300 Universal Testing Machine for tension, shear, hardness & bending and the GUNT WP400 Impact Tester.
- Recognise and identify the links to relevant sections of the 2019 Engineering syllabus.
- Discuss the coordination and timing of subject matter to practical activities and classroom management.
- Network with colleagues, discussing various approaches to the implementation of the new syllabus.
Light refreshments will be provided at this FREE event.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the revamped Creative Precinct.
