Powering our Future

Course Description

Program Description

Powering our Future promotes awareness of the various methods of electricity production available in Australia and how they all link to the  National Energy Market.

Year-8 students work with industry representatives as well as first-year engineering students on this higher-order thinking activity.

Students work in groups to better understand energy generation across QLD, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and New South Wales and determine the best energy production mix for these States now and 50 years into the future.

Students attend industry-lead presentations, which discuss the different energy sources being produced, purchased or sold in their given State.

The day concludes with students presenting their findings and future energy strategies  to the room.
