Santos GLNG DigiTech Challenge
Akash Jayashankar, Production Manager for GLNG Downstream Operations provides a welcome to the challenge and sets out what students can expect.
These videos serve as a starting point for teachers to introduce the fundamental ideas of HTML web design to students. It is recommended that students watch the videos in Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3 to introduce them to the topics necessary to complete a basic webpage. There are additional resources provided to support teachers who are using this task as part of their curriculum requirements.
These resources will go into far more detail than the videos for those students wishing to extend themselves.
The following resources were graciously supplied by Cal Devney, and developed while at Gladstone SHS. They outline a 10-week plan (3 lessons a week) to create a website, a task that follows the requirements of the Digital Technologies component of the Australian Curriculum.
In this zip file, you’ll find a unit outline, PowerPoint presentations and many more resources to assist students.
A collection of illustrations that will load nicely into the DigiTech Programming Environment. These would be great as Sprites and props within your creation.
Role position descriptions
These position descriptions outline the tasks that are performed by staff at the GLNG plant. This document is the same as what is used within Santos GLNG, and is purposefully not a ‘simplified’ version. The challenge is to draw out the relevant information as necessary and present it in a meaningful and engaging way.
Select interviews with staff members from the Santos GLNG plant, talking about their roles and the duties they typically undertake.
