The QMEA is partnering with the Jellinbah Group to offer two new university scholarships.

The scholarships have been established by Jellinbah to support students from their local communities from Emerald to Yeppoon.  Applicants need to be commencing studies at either Central Queensland University (CQUniversity) or James Cook University (JCU) in 2026.

The 2 x $14,000 scholarships have been initiated to help reduce the economic burden for regional students relocating to undertake university studies and pursue their career goals.

The Jellinbah Group is a privately owned and operated Queensland-based coal company with two mines based in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. Its mines primarily produce metallurgical coal and supply markets in Europe, Asia and South America.
