University Scholarships

2 x $14,000 scholarships available

The QMEA is partnering with Jellinbah Group to offer two university scholarships.

Each scholarship is valued at $14,000 and will support an eligible current or former QMEA partner school student commencing university study in 2027.

The scholarships recognise students who have demonstrated leadership, community spirit and a strong commitment to pursuing a STEM pathway relevant to Queensland’s resources sector.

Who can apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be a current or former student of a QMEA partner school.
  • Have completed Year 12 in 2025 and taken a gap year, or be completing Year 12 in 2026.
  • Be an Australian resident or citizen.
  • Intend to commence study at a recognised Queensland university in 2027.
  • Be enrolling in an eligible course relevant to the resources sector.
  • Demonstrate leadership, community spirit and commitment.

Eligible study areas

Eligible courses may include:

  • Engineering
  • Surveying
  • Environmental science
  • Geology
  • Digital technology
  • Workplace health and safety
  • Other STEM disciplines relevant to the resources sector

Scholarship value

Two scholarships valued at $14,000 each are available.

Each scholarship will be paid in two instalments, subject to
confirmation of university enrolment.

Key dates

Applications open: 10 August 2026
Applications close: 12 February 2027
University study commences: 2027
