QMEA Beakers.Bots.Build – Glencore MIM Term 1

Beakers.Bots.Build is a higher order thinking activity for Year 9 students.

Students will work in groups and take on three different challenges all related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

During the day students will have the chance to work with industry professionals currently working in the resource sector. These industry professionals will also provide a presentation on their own study and career pathway and students will gain a good insight to career within the sector.

The three challenges consist of:

• Chemical Processing


• Robotics and Programming


• Engineering and Design

These hands-on challenges are based on real world activities conducted by minerals and energy professionals.
