This QMEA Toolkit workshop will provide year 10 girls with an insight into the life of a tradesperson first hand.

During the one day workshop, the students will listen to industry trades people who work on mine worksites and understand more about their roles and what they do. Students will also undertake a range of practical activities in the “Hands On” component of the workshop. The day’s activities will be designed so that participants are exposed to a number of trade experiences and this should help them make an informed career choice.

The Toolbox workshop opportunity will include:

• Career information.

• Trades people and /or apprentices as guest speakers

• Networking with those currently working in the minerals and energy sector
.

• Industry based trade tasks and experiences
.
